Littlehoughton Pele Tower
Littlehoughton Pele Tower is a beautifully converted property, a small 13th century medieval pele tower to which additions have been made at various times, but chiefly in the 17th and 18th century. The medieval portion of the building which now forms the snug and first floor bedrooms, was originally a tower, 25ft square with walls 5ft thick, a vaulted lower storey and a newel staircase in one of the corners. The original entrance to the tower appears to have been a square-headed doorway. The tower does not appear in any early lists of similar buildings, probably owing to its small size.
Thoughtfully converted, it now accommodates 6 guests in three bedrooms; the snug / lounge and a light and airy kitchen/dining room with separate utility room and cloakroom and one bedroom with its own en-suite on the ground floor and two bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor.
As part of your stay at Littlehoughton Hall, guests have complimentary access to Howick Hall Gardens & Arboretum.
Ground Floor

Bedroom 1 with zip and link super king size bed or 2 single beds, draws, hanging space and an en-suite bathroom with bath, separate shower, WC, wash hand basin and under floor heating.
Snug / Lounge with large corner sofa, occasional tables, smart TV and multi-fuel stove. (Access to Littlehoughton Hall if required).
Kitchen / Dining Room. Kitchen with island with ceramic hob and ample storage, double oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave.
Dining area with large table and chairs for 8 guests with views over the countryside.
Utility Room with sink, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin.
Access to patio and large lawn garden.
First Floor
Bedroom 2 with zip and link super king size bed or two single beds, side tables, drawers and hanging space.
Bedroom 3 with zip and link super king size bed or two single beds, side tables, drawers and wardrobe and feature fireplace dating from 1686.
Family bathroom with bath with shower over, WC and wash hand basin.
(Access to Littlehoughton Hall if required).
Other Facilities
All bed linen and towels provided with anti-allergy duvets and pillows.
Hairdryer provided in each room.
Oil central heating system, with underfloor heating on the ground floor.
Wood burning stove is laid for your arrival and a basket of logs supplied; additional logs can be provided.
Wi-Fi.
2 well behaved dogs are welcome with a charge of £25.00 per dog, per week.
Large garden with patio, seating and lawns to the rear.
Large shared parking area for multiple cars at the front. For safety reasons, we do not permit electric vehicle or hybrid car charging at this property.
Please note as this is a period property, door heights vary in size and the stairs turn a corner at the top - guests must take care.
This property can be booked in conjunction with Littlehoughton Hall which increases the accommodation to 12 guests. Also Littlehoughton Farm Cottage can be booked in conjunction with both properties increasing the accommodation to 16 guests.
